We are very excited to give Hamilton students and families the opportunity to create a student pledge drive page to collect and track their walkathon pledges online.
This is a fun and easy way to unleash the power of your people to support Hamilton. And it’ll help us blow away our $20,000 pledge drive goal!
How it works
You set up a student pledge drive page under the name of a Hamilton student. From this student pledge drive page, sponsors donate online using their credit card, and the pledges are automatically credited on each student’s personal page. No need to submit cash or checks, and your sponsors will receive an automatic donation thank you and confirmation for tax purposes. These student pledge drive pages can be shared easily with family and friends by email or through Facebook and other social media. Cool!
The first classroom with 10 student pledge drive pages will win a session of iPad fun during the school day!
**Please note: Students only get credit for online pledges through their student pledge drive pages.
(You can also collect pledges offline, the old-fashioned way, in the form of cash and check donations from family and friends. To learn more about offline pledge collection, click here. [INSERT LINK])
BEFORE YOU CREATE YOUR STUDENT PLEDGE DRIVE PAGE, PLEASE READ THIS VERY IMPORTANT INFO:
1. Before you create your page, you will be required to create a Join Me account. WHEN CREATING THIS ACCOUNT, USE THE STUDENT’S NAME, NOT THE PARENT’S NAME. Put the STUDENT’S first and last name in the name fields. Put the STUDENT’S name in the field “Name to display on Fundraising Pages.” This will ensure that students get credit for the donations made to their pledge pages; WE CANNOT LINK PARENT NAMES TO STUDENTS.
2. Only one student pledge drive page can be attached to each Join Me account. Therefore, if you have more than one Hamilton student, you need to set up a separate Join Me account for each student. You can, however, use the same email for multiple accounts.
To get started on your student pledge drive page:
1. Check out the student pledge drive page instructions. You can download the PDF here. (If you need further assistance once you have reviewed these instructions, contact walkathon co-chair Sarah Makela at firstname.lastname@example.org.)
2. Create your personal pledge drive page using the Join Me program! (Please note: You will be asked to create a Join Me account—no worries, this is legit!) To create your page, follow the "Click here to join!" link below:

Walk this way! Help Hamilton Elementary build a new athletic field by supporting the 4th Annual Hamilton Walkathon Pledge Drive.
The pledge drive is one of the biggest fundraisers supporting Hamilton Elementary. This year, we're walking to reach a $20,000 fundraising goal to benefit a turf athletic field on the west side of the school.
We are challenging all Hamilton students to collect at least $20 in walkathon pledges. Classrooms with at least 70 percent of students meeting this challenge will earn a movie party, and there are other fun prizes for top pledge-getting classrooms and students.
Pledge $75 and become a Walk This Way sponsor
Individuals pledging $75 or more will be recognized as Walk This Way sponsors and be identified on the walkathon t-shirt. If you are making a Walk This Way pledge of $75 or more, please contact walkathon co-chair Sarah Makela at email@example.com by Tuesday, September 25, with the name you would like included on the t-shirt. Information provided after Sept. 25 cannot be included on the t-shirt because of our printing deadline.
A note about sponsoring Hamilton siblings:
If you would like to sponsor Hamilton siblings, we encourage you to evenly distribute your donation and sponsor each student separately through his or her student pledge drive page. For example, if you have two grandchildren at Hamilton and would like to donate a total of $100, please pledge $50 to each grandchild's student pledge drive page. This will ensure that each of the siblings get credit for your donation.
Thank you for your support!
